EKAMBARESWARAR TEMPLE:
  • one of the 5 major sivan temple(panchabootam sthalams) represent the element of earth
  • the ancient temple has been in existence even in prior to 600 ad
  • the temple was built by palava kings
  • the temple covers the area of 40 acres reaching the height of 57 meters
  • the temples raja goburam is one of the tallest in south India
  • the temple is famous for its 1000 pillars around the temple
  • the sthala virutcham( mango tree) is a 3500 years old tree which yields 4 different type of mangoes.
